Arrive in Xishuangbanna, try out the bikes. In the evening we will try the local Dai food.
Leaving early in the morning, we'll cross the Chinese border into Laos 190km away. (Visa on arrival, Included in tour price). From here, we will have 200km of small windy roads towards the small mountain town Nong Khiaw: 390km.
A relatively short drive to the UNESCO World Heritage City Luang Prabang and after arriving in the hotel in the afternoon we have the possibility to take a swim at famous the Kwang Si waterfalls. At night there are many activities in town: 200km.
We will drive to Phonsavan on twisty mountain roads, with stunning scenery along the way. Depending on what time we arrive, we can make the decision to visit the Plain of Jars in the afternoon or the morning after. With more than three hundred enormous stone jars, their origins long forgotten and their original use and significance still unclear, it's a very special sight to take in: 260km.
We will leave the impressive Plain of Jars behind us and head out roads towards Vang Vieng, stunning views and mountainous roads all the way: 220km.
We will have a rest day in Vang Vieng, with many daily activities available such as: rafting, mountain climbing, swimming in the blue lagoon, exploring one of the many caves, or tubing.
Another 160km in Laos before we hit the Thailand border at Vientiane (most foreigners don't need a visa but if so, then we'll provide). We will continue driving to Khon Kean: 360km.
This will be a long but relatively easy day crossing Thailand to Cambodia border. We will get a great view of the Cambodian countryside, and we will stop in our final destination, Siem Reap: 450km
