Arrivie in Siem Reap.
In the morning, we'll visit Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples (entrance tickets are included in the tour price).
The third day will be long but relatively easy including a international border crossing Cambodia-Thailand. (Most nationals going to Thailand don't need a visa.) We will spend the night in Khon Kaen Thailand: 450km.
Another 200km in Thailand before we hit the Laos border at Vientiane. We will apply for visas on arrival (visas cost included in the tour price). We will continue driving to Vang Vieng, a beautiful small mountain town: 360km.
We will have a rest day in Vang Vieng, many daily activities available such as: rafting, mountain climbing, swimming in the blue lagoon, exploring one of the many caves, but my favorite is Tubing.
We will drive to Phonsavan on twisty mountain roads with stunning scenery along the way. Depending on what time we arrive we can make the decision to visit the Plain of Jars in the afternoon or the morning after. With more than three hundred enormous stone jars, their origins long forgotten and their original use and significance still unclear, the Phonsavan Plain of Jars are a historical treasure: 220km.
A relatively short drive to Luang Prabang (UNESCO World Heritage City). In the afternoon you will have plenty of time to do sightseeing, at night there is a big night market with delicious food: 160km.
In the morning we have the option to Visit the Kwang Si waterfalls 25km out of Luang Prabang, taking a refreshing swim. In the afternoon we will continue driving to Nong Khiaw a small mountain town: 200km.
Leaving early morning towards China, beautiful scenery along the way. After 200km we will hit the Chinese border and from there its another 190km to Xishuangbanna. Possibility to fly out in the evening or we can celebrate a great successful trip, and try the local Dai food: 390km.
